Collection: Inserts and Boosters

You may love Made for Marly inserts so much, that you want to purchase additional stocks, even for your other brand nappies!

A bit about our inserts:

It would be no surprise if you do love them, as they're beautifully soft, extremely thirsty work horses. Both the shorter "booster" and long "snake" inserts are made with three layers of 400GSM bamboo fleece. This combination means that they last hours for most babies/toddlers. 

How do they compare to other similar products on the market? Well, other brands that use bamboo fleece as their absorbent fabric often use just two layers of fabric, and it is typically a higher absorbency (that's the GSM number!). At Made for Marly, our quality testing found that these higher GSM fabrics became stiffer over time, and that the two layers actually had less effective absorption than our three layers. Our combo is a win-win in our books!

These inserts are then topped with a layer of suede cloth. The purpose is to keep the inserts feeling dry against the skin, without drying the skin out and drawing natural oils away like some synthetic fabrics can do. This means that your little one should be content wearing the nappy for a long time without feeling irritated.

Why two different inserts? Well, this is all up to personal preference and the needs of your child. Many children will require more absorption, and so the snake insert folded over, plus the booster sitting on top is the way to go. For some, only one insert is needed (most likely the long snake insert folded over, and for some very light wetters just the booster might be needed). The snake insert can also be folded to suit your needs; for example, it can be folded over multiple times at the front, rather than folded in half for even spread of fabric.
